The New York Department of Veterans Services (DVS) works with veterans seeking help with their release. DVS also works with community organizations to connect veterans with free legal advice and pro bono services that can help resolve legal issues, including eviction, discrimination complaints, debts, custody, requests for public support, and end-of-life planning. Since 2017, military personnel and veterans have been a protected class in New York City. If you feel discriminated against because of your military status, you can file a complaint with the New York Commission on Human Rights. A web-based platform that matches lawyers who can provide pro bono legal services with veterans who need such services. The ABA`s Veterans Legal Services Initiative, developed by Linda Klein, President of the ABA in 2016-2017, focused on a wide range of legal issues affecting veterans and was led by a twenty-member Veterans Legal Services Board. During its 2016-2018 period, the Commission developed educational programmes, ABA policies, technology projects, key partnerships with external bodies and other resources. The Office of the Attorney General for Military and Veteran Legal Aid can connect volunteer lawyers and civilian legal aid programs with qualified military members and veterans who require assistance with certain civil justice matters.

The hybrid face-to-face virtual event took place on November 8, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. and featured notable speakers and inspiring testimonials. The Office of the Attorney General for Military and Veteran Legal Aid was established to promote and facilitate civilian legal aid programs, pro bono services and peer support services for military personnel, veterans and their families. As part of its efforts, the Office of Military and Veteran Legal Assistance Programs identifies and maintains the following registry to provide military members and veterans with a single source of information on their unique legal aid resources. The WSBA website also contains information about legal investment services and a paid legal aid program. NVLSP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been working since 1981 to ensure that the government provides our nation`s 22 million veterans and active-duty employees with the benefits to which they are entitled. The NVLSP offers training programs to help veterans` service agencies, lawyers, lawyers and many others help our disabled veterans receive the benefits to which they are legally entitled. In response to the court order to enforce the beneficiary consent decree, VA must review thousands of cases of Blue Water Vietnam veterans and survivors to obtain retroactive benefits from Agent Orange.
